There’s something about black and white that says classic.
A friend of mine once told me that I have an obsession with stripes and denied it. I know I have an obsession with leopard print. I’ve already come to terms with that and I just might need leopard print addicts anonymous one day.
It wasn’t until I took a good look at my closet that I realized that I do have a lot of striped items. I think its subconscious that I’m drawn to repetitive patterns and bright colors. This is why I try to include a variety of shapes and colours in my “If I Was Your Stylist” posts.
The focal point for this outfit is the River Island Green textured tube skirt. I absolutely love this shade of green because it oozes summer and fun!
To balance the outfit, I added a black and white striped top from River Island and black Pointy Toe Ankle Strap Pumps from gojane.com. They also have the shoes in blush, mint and pink. They’re gorgeous and easy to pair.
It’s summer and the sun is not shy these days so to complete the outfit, I added black round framed sunglasses with gold detailing to accentuate the gold of the Pharaoh earrings. Tell me those earrings aren’t dope!

Peace, love, and happy shopping,
You see, this is the reason I love urbanog.com. Their shoes are always inexpensive and when they come out with dupes for popular shoes like the Zara Combination High Heel Sandal, I live a little inside.
Urbanog.com just recently stocked the Wild Rose Tamara Open Toe Ankle Strap Sandal ($32) that is almost an exact replica for the Zara Combination High Heel Sandal ($50). In my opinion, $50 isn’t bad at all for a pair of sturdy, well-made shoes, but I also don’t mind saving $18. I can use it to buy some accessories to spruce up a plain outfit.
If you are familiar with the Zara brand, you may notice that the dupes are not as sleek as the Zaras are and the heel is a little shorter. However, if you are not familiar, the differences are pretty much non existent.
In addition to black, the Zara sandals also come in blue and a tan and coral combination (top photo) and the dupes come in purple and pink, orange and tan, as well as mint and blue (bottom photos.)
I absolutely love finding shoe dupes and I’m always on the look out. #igotchu

Peace, love, and happy shopping,
I like a laid back look for running errands or a lunch date on the weekends. I haven’t worn a long pair of jeans since I left Minnesota. I’ve been lacking sun, so I refuse to wear any thing that travels past my knees for while.
These basic bleached high-waisted short pants from Topshop (similar pair from Forever 21) are perfect for a summer day and are easy to dress up while still maintaining a casual comfortable look.
I’m in love with crop tops so to add a touch of sexy to this outfit, I paired the shorts with a black mesh cut-out turtle neck crop top from River Island. To add some pizzazz to the outfit to balance it out on the bottom, I chose to add a pointed toe leopard flat from Lulu’s, a style that’s trending right now.
One of the most common ways to dress up a casual outfit is to add a blazer. Blazers are a closet must have because they help you transform outfits. I chose an orange blazer from Topshop that is tailored for the gods. Tailored blazers cinch in your waist and create an hour glass figure. They tend to be a little more expensive, but Lulu’s and Forever 21 have less expensive options that still provide the look.
Also, the blazer covers up some skin as the shirt and shorts are revealing. Good outfits are all about balance to me, though that can be subjective.
Enjoy your weekend and stay out of trouble.
Peace, love, and happiness,
