Finding the Right Jumpsuit for Your Body Type

Finding the right tapered jumpsuit for my body hasn’t been easy.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be out here in these streets looking like I’m ready to go to bed or audition for telly tubbies.

Bae and I went out the other night to Luciano’s restaurant to celebrate his birthday. I hadn’t picked out my outfit in advance so I was a little stressed over what I was going to wear.

Then, I remembered this black  jumpsuit that I bought a couple of months ago from boohoo.com. It’s perfect for my body type. Why? Because it has a wrap bodice and a tie at the waist. These two features make sure I don’t look awkward and have #bootydo (Whey your belly sticks out more than your “booty do”).

Tapered-leg jumpsuits without these features are a no go for me. They draw attention to my mid-section and I make no apologies for wanting my waist to look snatched, even though it’s not.

The food at Luciano’s was great. We ordered the fried calamari to start; I later ordered the chicken parmigiana and bae got the paela.

The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful. It sits on the water, which makes for perfect photos! That’s one of the things I love about The Bahamas. You’ll pay an arm, leg and lady part to sit at a restaurant with an ocean view in some cities. But here, with the miles of coastline we have, you’re bound to find many  restaurants that sit on the water, with varying price ranges.

As they say, it’s better in The Bahamas

Pandora Bay Street Turns Two!

posted on: May 20, 2017

Y’all. I never get invited to events as a blogger. So, when I saw a personal invite to Pandora Bay Streets‘ 2nd anniversary event, “Petals and Punps” in my inbox, I was taken aback.

I even called the store to find out more about the event.

Because the event called for pumps, I knew I would face a dilemma. I don’t own one pair of fashionable, yet comfortable pumps. I decided on a pair of pinky nude pumps that I bought from gojane.com more than a year ago. I wore these to a graduation service and let me tell you. My feet were on fire after a few hours in these babies. I could barely walk to my car.

Because of the pink undertone in the pumps, I knew exactly what I would wear with it: a mauve dress that was gifted to me by gojane.com. It was a match made in heaven. Though it’s slightly maternity-ish, I love how angelic this dress makes me look and feel!

I wore my hair in the same style I wore to work that day: a twisted bun. You can find the tutorial on my YouTube channel, Brittany Kyss.

When I got to the event, my anti-social ass I felt out of place. I’m what you call a social introvert. It’s very hard for me to just go up to complete strangers and strike up a conversation. I stood in the corner and after about 5 minutes of pure awkwardness, I called my boyfriend and told him to back for me asap. (In retrospect, I find that embarrassing. But when that anxiety kicks in. Girl. ) Shortly after, I was greeted by the pleasant face of Eslaine Croes, who sent me the invitation to the event. She asked me if I wanted a drink and invited me to come and stand by her and her colleagues. I was a little relieved and had to call bae back to say, “false alarm.” Oops.

After a while, I started to see the familiar faces of bloggers whom I follow on social media: Ianthia Smith, Aneka Stewart, Conesha Knowles, and Tracy-Ann Perpall. I felt more comfortable.

I found myself so comfortable, that I bought a ring. Mind you, I had no intentions of spending money, but when I looked at the catalog of their new collection, I sorta kinda couldn’t help myself. Hey, it was VAT free. The ring is rose gold and it’s called “Radiant Elegance.” You can find it here, on Pandora’s website. What I like about the Pandora Rose collection is that the metal isn’t overly pink, so it looks quite similar to yellow gold.

I not a fan of silver, and Pandora’s gold hand chain is beyond this teacher’s budget, so this was my first Pandora purchase for myself. I’m no stranger to the brand though. I’ve bought two of my best friends a charm and a ring, and last Christmas, I bought my mom a silver bracelet and a charm (pictured below).

Pandora had a raffle at the event and a lucky lady won some Pandora goodies. I was slightly jealous, but when I got home and saw the gift that Pandora gave to the bloggers, I was ever so pleased and grateful.  It’s a dazzling silver shoe charm. I gave it to my mom since I don’t have a bracelet as yet.

I’m quite happy and appreciative that Pandora Bay Street invited bloggers to this event because I feel that many (not all) brands in The Bahamas don’t see the importance of bloggers because they don’t realize how much influence we have. Five of us were there, and ALL of us posted on our social media platforms.

I do see brands in The Bahamas becoming more receptive to bloggers in the future though.

Speaking of the future, what I do know is that whenever I buy a gold Pandora bracelet, I will buy it from Pandora on Bay Street.

Fashion Story One | It’s Friday

posted on: March 23, 2017

It’s Friday.

I’m off work.

Nobody better call me.

#mattafact, let me turn off my phone now.

I’m in a good mood.

Titties sitting right. Ass sitting better.

F*** Spanx. I got this.

I’m wearing heels for no reason.

And I don’t care if its 100 degrees outside.

I’m wearing this damn velvet dress.

Who gone check me?

LOL. I have to laugh at what I just wrote.

Hey guys! It’s been a few months since I’ve written an outfit of the day post. I wanted to come on here with something fresh and different. It gets quite boring writing a typical outfit of the day post where I simply state what I’m wearing and fit some awkward words in between so it won’t be short. Idk. I kind of hate small talk.

But I love making up stories and writing poetry, though I barely have a chance to write for fun these days. The only thing I read are essays and the only thing I write are grades. #teacherlife.

I want to make my blogs a little more interesting and engaging, so I thought to add a little sassy story to it. This isn’t the first time I’ve written a blog post like this. I wrote a similar one a few years ago about black heels. Someone complimented me in the comments. Ay!

Anyway, I hope my short story, at the very least, made you smirk.

Outfit of the Day | How I Wear White

Natural Hair Updo | Brittany Kyss | kyssmystyle.com

I’ve always been a fan of a white ensemble and there’s something so cherubic about a white dress. I’m always afraid to wear white because of well, makeup. But sometimes, you just gotta wear white.

I’m always wearing dresses in my outfit of the day posts. That’s because boohoo.com is always having a sale and I really like their dresses and their always having a sale. 98% of the time, the size I order fits me perfectly (I wear a US 10), and I don’t feel like experimenting with other apparel.

The dress is sold out, but I know Boohoo. They will restock it.

These gorgeous blue pumps are sold out, but these will work just as well and they’re the closest thing you’ll get to a Louboutin for under $50.
