It’s been a few months since I’ve updated my blog. At the beginning of August, I travelled to New York and Minnesota. When I got back him to the Bahamas, I was overwhelmed with school work (MBA) and preparations for heading back into the classroom (I’m a teacher.).

To put this in perspective, I still have a New York map and a metro card in my purse. Technically, I haven’t even cleaned out my purse since mid-August.

But I digress.

When I was in Minnesota,  I re-upped on a few of my makeup stables, namely the Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, Black (+) (+), and the Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes Washable Mascara, Very Black (+) (+) (+). I also love the Maybelline Lasting Drama by Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner, Blackest Black, but what was once an eyeliner that was very smooth, and easy for my brush to glide through, I now a mass of hardness that it is impossible to use. I don’t know if it dried out, or what.

I prefer the pen (see pictures below) because it’s easier to transport and I don’t have to worry about it drying out on me. It’s not as long-lasting as the gel eyeliner, but it’s much easier to apply since I don’t have to worry about getting enough on the brush and holding it at the right angle, yadda yadda. Oh, and it’s perfect for beginners. So, if you want to try liquid eyeliner, but you’re afraid, try this one first.

My eyelashes are pretty much non-existent so I the small, tapered brush of the Great Lash mascara is perfect for me. The small end of the brush is perfect for getting in the inner corner of my lashes.

Not that I need any more lipstick, but I felt that it would be sinful to leave Wal-Mart without purchasing a few lipsticks. I heard about the CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Divine (+) (+) for a while (see photo below). What drew my attention to it is that it is known to be a dupe for MAC’s Heroine. It looks a lot like Revlon’s Berry Haute, which is a dupe for MAC’s Up the Amp, so I don’t know how true that is.

Every Milani Color Statement Lipstick that I own, I love. I have about seven of them,  Black Cherry (+) being the newest addition. It’s a little lighter than how it appears in the photo below. Click here to see lip swatches.

I love a dark lip color. Something about it just makes me feel sexy.

I also purchased the OPI Classic Collection Nail Lacquer in Big Apple Red (+) (+). I follow Draya Michele on Instagram, and it’s her signature nail color. It’s looked so vibrant and I made it my business to purchase it whenever I came across it.

Earlier in the summer, I washed my Sigma powder brush and watched in horror as I pulled out clumps of fibers. To replace it, I purchased the Real Techniques Powder Brush (+) for $10 and I love it. I use it every day to apply my powder.

both lipsticks are to die for! I don’t know if I would rock the darker one, though…

That dark one is not for everybody. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
