Pandora Bay Street Turns Two!

Y’all. I never get invited to events as a blogger. So, when I saw a personal invite to Pandora Bay Streets‘ 2nd anniversary event, “Petals and Pumps” in my inbox, I was taken aback.

I even called the store to find out more about the event.

Because the event called for pumps, I knew I would face a dilemma. I don’t own one pair of fashionable, yet comfortable pumps. I decided on a pair of pinky nude pumps that I bought from gojane.com more than a year ago. I wore these to a graduation service and let me tell you. My feet were on fire after a few hours in these babies. I could barely walk to my car.

Because of the pink undertone in the pumps, I knew exactly what I would wear with it: a mauve dress that was gifted to me by gojane.com. It was a match made in heaven. Though it’s slightly maternity-ish, I love how angelic this dress makes me look and feel!

I wore my hair in the same style I wore to work that day: a twisted bun. You can find the tutorial on my YouTube channel, Brittany Kyss.

When I got to the event, my anti-social ass I felt out of place. I’m what you call a social introvert. It’s very hard for me to just go up to complete strangers and strike up a conversation. I stood in the corner and after about 5 minutes of pure awkwardness, I called my boyfriend and told him to back for me asap. (In retrospect, I find that embarrassing. But when that anxiety kicks in. Girl. ) Shortly after, I was greeted by the pleasant face of Eslaine Croes, who sent me the invitation to the event. She asked me if I wanted a drink and invited me to come and stand by her and her colleagues. I was a little relieved and had to call bae back to say, “false alarm.” Oops.

After a while, I started to see the familiar faces of bloggers whom I follow on social media: Ianthia Smith, Aneka Stewart, Conesha Knowles, and Tracy-Ann Perpall. I felt more comfortable.

I found myself so comfortable, that I bought a ring. Mind you, I had no intentions of spending money, but when I looked at the catalog of their new collection, I sorta kinda couldn’t help myself. Hey, it was VAT free. The ring is rose gold and it’s called “Radiant Elegance.” You can find it here, on Pandora’s website. What I like about the Pandora Rose collection is that the metal isn’t overly pink, so it looks quite similar to yellow gold.

I not a fan of silver, and Pandora’s gold hand chain is beyond this teacher’s budget, so this was my first Pandora purchase for myself. I’m no stranger to the brand though. I’ve bought two of my best friends a charm and a ring, and last Christmas, I bought my mom a silver bracelet and a charm (pictured below).

Pandora had a raffle at the event and a lucky lady won some Pandora goodies. I was slightly jealous, but when I got home and saw the gift that Pandora gave to the bloggers, I was ever so pleased and grateful.  It’s a dazzling silver shoe charm. I gave it to my mom since I don’t have a bracelet as yet.

I’m quite happy and appreciative that Pandora Bay Street invited bloggers to this event because I feel that many (not all) brands in The Bahamas don’t see the importance of bloggers because they don’t realize how much influence we have. Five of us were there, and ALL of us posted on our social media platforms.

I do see brands in The Bahamas becoming more receptive to bloggers in the future though.

Speaking of the future, what I do know is that whenever I buy a gold Pandora bracelet, I will buy it from Pandora on Bay Street.
