Generally speaking, the overarching theme of most of the Spring/Summer 2016 shoes is vibrancy with a bit of playfulness. I’m not sure who started it, but Aquazurra’s Wild Thing sandal, arguably one of the most worn shoes of SS2015, seemed to spark a fringe trend in the shoe world that has spilled over into 2016.
I’m loving the straps, the tassels, the pom poms, the beads, the textures, and of course the colors. Get into my spring 2016 picks below!
The AQUAZZURA Pompom-embellished raffia sandals wanna be Trix cereal so bad, but I love them! They would go great with a white sun dress or any other color in the shoe.
Aside from the gorgeous blue suede that makes up the body of the BRIAN ATWOOD Iliana fringed suede sandals, the beading is everything. Can we please have a moment of silence? I love the ‘almost a rainbow’ color scheme with the white, blue and silver beads on the ends of the ‘tassels’ so that the colors flow better.
River Island shoes be on fleek, y’all. Especially when it comes to mixing textures, colors and prints. The way these black suede tassel strappy heels have me feeling is ridiculous. There’s something very Solange-esque about them because of the black and white staggered zig-zag print on the sole of the shoe and the multi colored tassels. I love how the colors of the tassels are earth-toned with a pop of coral. River Island’s shoes are great alternatives to higher-end designer brands because, let’s be honest, does this not look like an expensive shoe?
These light pink suede pom pom sandals, also from River Island, combines two of the season’s biggest trends, pom poms and tassels (as you may have noticed above). The design of this shoe is stellar, particularly with the woven toe strap. I mean, can you imagine these shoes with a yellow bodycon dress?
I remember buying a pair of mary jane style shoes with block heels when I was in college. But other than that, I’ve pretty much sticked to stilettos. However, because block heels are majorly trending right now, there’s more variety and you’re bound to find at least one shoe that has a block heel, but not clunky. Of course, the icing on the cake for the shoes on the left are the tassels. I can’t get enough of them.
Every year, just before spring, you start to see floral prints pop up in stores and e-commerce sites. Floral print and spring go together like peas and rice. The shoes on the right are a dupe for Giuseppe Zanotti Coline sandals, which I blogged last year. I’m not sure if Giuseppe has this style floral print, but Liliana does. These shoes are also available on gojane.com and they run big if you have narrow feet; I suggest going a half size down.
Spring wouldn’t be the same without bright colored pumps! These Totally Timeless Faux Patent Pumps from gojane.com are gorgeous, and give you that Christian Louboutin pumps look without the price tag. They have them in a variety of colors for under $50, so get your fix girl.
I’m a fan of all gold anything. Not that glittery gold, but that nice, smooth metallic gold. It’s quite soothing to me. These River Island Metallic gold pointed court heels are simple, but they have a touch of elegance as well as boldness to them.
Now, you can’t wear heels everywhere so flat sandals are a must. Surprise, surprise, these are from River Island as well. The top photo shows the Brown lace-up eyelet detail sandals. I don’t even link brown, but when you pair it with burnt orange, nude, snake print, and gold details, count me in!
The second photo features the Pink pointed lace-up flat shoes. Blush is a trending color right now you’ll definitely blush when you wear these shoes because you’re sure to get compliments. I love the cute tassels, and the cut-out pattern on the back.
