Fashion Story One | It’s Friday

posted on: March 23, 2017

It’s Friday.

I’m off work.

Nobody better call me.

#mattafact, let me turn off my phone now.

I’m in a good mood.

Titties sitting right. Ass sitting better.

F*** Spanx. I got this.

I’m wearing heels for no reason.

And I don’t care if its 100 degrees outside.

I’m wearing this damn velvet dress.

Who gone check me?

LOL. I have to laugh at what I just wrote.

Hey guys! It’s been a few months since I’ve written an outfit of the day post. I wanted to come on here with something fresh and different. It gets quite boring writing a typical outfit of the day post where I simply state what I’m wearing and fit some awkward words in between so it won’t be short. Idk. I kind of hate small talk.

But I love making up stories and writing poetry, though I barely have a chance to write for fun these days. The only thing I read are essays and the only thing I write are grades. #teacherlife.

I want to make my blogs a little more interesting and engaging, so I thought to add a little sassy story to it. This isn’t the first time I’ve written a blog post like this. I wrote a similar one a few years ago about black heels. Someone complimented me in the comments. Ay!

Anyway, I hope my short story, at the very least, made you smirk.

Real Vs. Steal | Jimmy Choo Kaytrin Suede Ankle-Tie Platform Sandals

Block heels are all the rage right now. Second, to clear heels. You just can’t escape them.

The Jimmy Choo Kaytrin 120 Suede Ankle-Tie Platform Sandals feature a 4.75″ cone heel, and a 1″ platform, which makes it feel like a 3.75″ heel. Don’t let the high heel fool you!

They also feature an open toe, and a back ankle tie.

The look-a-likes, which are almost identical feature a 5″ heel with a 1.25″ platform. They come in blush and nude, and you can find them on lulus.com.

I just bought a pair of olive green block heels that I can’t wait to rock! I’ll show them to you later on this week.

My Favorite Nude Dress

Boohoo Rita Strappy Top Detail Midi Bodycon Dress | kyssmystyle.com

School is finally closed and I’m gonna need summer to come all the way through, though I can do without the humidity. I’m happy to be out of the classroom and to not be a slave to the bell for a while. I need to recharge my battery so I can be ready for my kids in September.

So, last Saturday night, bae and I went out for dinner and I wore my favorite taupe dress that I bought from boohoo.com last year. You may remember it from an OOTD collaboration I did with 242BlqRze last December. It’s arguably my favorite dress, my black strappy dress, also from boohoo.com, being a close second, or third. I’m not sure.

It’s not available in taupe anymore, but it is in black, burgundy, and red for $35. Come on, you can’t beat that price.

The restaurant we went to is called Blue Sail. It was my first time going there, and I must say, the restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. It probably looks better in the day time because it’s right on the ocean. The service was also great, however, I was a little disappointed with the main course.

I was craving conch fritters earlier in the week so we ordered some of those. They were delicious, even though the conch bits were a bit big. However, we shared a meat lovers pizza that seemed to lack flavor. We had to put red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese on it to make it flavorful. I was disappointed. My Sprite soda was also flat. I’m a Sprite connoisseur, so that matters a lot to me. lol But for real though. I love Sprite.

All in all, I still enjoyed myself. We should’ve gone to the club afterwards, but downtown Nassau was probably crawling with recent graduates of the school I teach at because their prom was that night. I can’t be whining up and risk being photographed. Nope. Every kind of nope.

I’m looking forward to forgetting that I’m a teacher for the next two months and then trying to figure out where the time went at the end of August.

New In | Saint Laurent Inspired Envelope Bag

Real Vs. Steal | Saint Laurent Monogram Inspired Bag | kyssmystyle.com
I carry this bag everywhere. To lunch dates. To the mall. To the bathroom. Everywhere.

When I first saw it, I knew I had to have it. I know. Cliche right? I was attracted by the diagonal quilted pattern how similar it looks to Saint Laurent’s envelope bag. It’s now sold out.

Contrary to my work bag, which has everything in it from clothes pins (don’t ask), to coupons, to about five tubes of lipstick (that I can never find when I need them), I try to keep my weekend bags clutter free.

  • I keep a cheap wallet that I got from Target last summer. I holds all my cards and the little money I have. I beat up my wallets so badly because I used them for purses sometimes. It makes no sense to buy an expensive one. And I don’t have any money for that so…
  • Using hand sanitizer 10 times a day did not stop my from contracting pink eye last year, but I have to have sanitizer because, I mean, things are germsy.
  • I always tell myself that I’m going to stop buying perfume and buy scented body oils instead, but alas, I’m always tempted by pretty bottles and seductive fragrances. Estee Lauder’s Pleasures has been my go to fragrance for the past few months. It’s so fresh. I bought in December 2014. Wow. Time has sure flown. I can’t believe it’s 2016.
  • Sunglasses are a necessity. Not just for the haters, but for the blinding Nassau sun.
  • That little gold tube looking thing is my portable phone charger, a must have as a blogger, and because iPhone batteries last for negative two minutes.
  • My bag would not be complete without lipstick and liner. I don’t really need the liner but lipstick is an absolute must have. It’s why I have so many tubes in my bag at a time. It’s kind of a sickness. The lipstick in this post is Milani Matte Glam from their Color Statement collection. It’s a gorgeous burgundy color. I swear I have 10 lipsticks in different shades of burgundy, but its okay because…it just is.

What do you keep in your bag?
