Not too long ago, Milani introduced it’s new Color Statement Lipsticks¬†($5.49 for 0.14 oz.)¬†and I love them.

There are a wide variety of colors, but I purchased 5:

Naturally Chic | Very gorgeous rosy nude with a cream finish

Rose Hip | Hot pink with a cream finish

Sangria | Berry color with matte finish. Sangria is the most drying because it has a matte finish. It is a dupe for MAC’s Rebel. Click here to see swatches.

Sweet Nectar | True orange with cream finish. I don’t know if the formula for Sweet Nectar is different, but it gave me a few problems> I had to layer it on a lot to achieve my desired effect.

Flirty Fuchsia | True fuchsia with vinyl finish. The formula for this is so smooth that it glides across your lips.

Where to Buy | Milani Cosmetics

Price | 5.49 | A

These lipsticks are reasonably priced.

Packaging | B+ |

I love that they have the true color represented at the bottom of the tube, but the gold allows fingerprints to be seen easily. This is not a determining factor in terms of purchase but (1) fingerprints don’t look good on the shelf and (2) they show up in pictures.

Pigmentation/Coverage/ | B+

For the price, I think the coverage is excellent. The pigments are buildable so dabbing with a napkin in between applications helps with coverage and longevity.

Texture | B+

Most of these lipsticks (sans the matte ones) feel creamy and hydrating as they are enriched with vitamin A, C and E. They are also paraben free. They could be a little more creamy to me.

Longevity | A

These lipsticks last for a very long time. They are also very difficult to get off.
