It’s Monday morning, 1:53 am to be exact, and I’m legit writing about how to style a duster. Y’all I have work in the morning. I’m going to hate myself in a few hours when I literally feel like death.
I’ve been on Easter vacation for the past two weeks and, while it has certainly been a restful break, I do not want to go to work this morning.
I am simply not ready.
If you didn’t know, I’m a teacher and there are approximately 7 weeks left in the term. I just have to power through.
But on to more important things. I purchased this duster from boohoo.com months ago and I have to say that I love the damn thing. What I love most about it is how I can simply throw it over a plain outfit and make it chic.
I paired with an olive bodysuit, a pair of ripped black jeans, chunky green heels, and an olive clutch.
I’d say I look pretty put together. What say you?

I’m off work.
Nobody better call me.
#mattafact, let me turn off my phone now.
I’m in a good mood.
Titties sitting right. Ass sitting better.
F*** Spanx. I got this.
I’m wearing heels for no reason.
And I don’t care if its 100 degrees outside.
I’m wearing this damn velvet dress.
Who gone check me?
LOL. I have to laugh at what I just wrote.
Hey guys! It’s been a few months since I’ve written an outfit of the day post. I wanted to come on here with something fresh and different. It gets quite boring writing a typical outfit of the day post where I simply state what I’m wearing and fit some awkward words in between so it won’t be short. Idk. I kind of hate small talk.
But I love making up stories and writing poetry, though I barely have a chance to write for fun these days. The only thing I read are essays and the only thing I write are grades. #teacherlife.
I want to make my blogs a little more interesting and engaging, so I thought to add a little sassy story to it. This isn’t the first time I’ve written a blog post like this. I wrote a similar one a few years ago about black heels. Someone complimented me in the comments. Ay!
Anyway, I hope my short story, at the very least, made you smirk.
The olive green trend that permeated the fashion world last year has made itself at home and it doesn’t look as if it plans on leaving any time soon. I said it before in one of my previous posts and I’ll say it again: I never thought that I would see the day when I would love olive green. Back then, it seemed like such a bland color, but these days I see it was a versatile color and I’ve began to incorporate olive green pieces in my wardrobe. Go figure.
The cut out pattern of the Alexander Wang olive green cut out dress featured in this OOTD post adds character to a basic dress. It costs a pretty penny, but this dress from TopShop is easier on your wallet.
For this outfit, I chose a camel theme to complement the green. Camel is another color that I didn’t care for, but now love. I think I thought of these colors as too earthy. I was never into earth tones that much. I was lost, but now I’m found.
If you’ve been frequenting any women’s retail store, you know that strappy lace up shoes is another trend that’s also not going anywhere any time soon. Every time I turn around, I see another celebrity or blogger rocking this trend. I ain’t mad at all. Pair your dress with these Gianvito Rossi gladiator sandals or these, these, and these from gojane.com.
A foldover crossover body bag like this one from Blooming dale’s goes great with the shoes and so would this tasseled bag from gojane.com (I love gojane.com btw. They have trendy pieces at affordable prices!)
I kept the bling simple with a gold lariat necklace from baublebar.com and pair of rose tinted cat eye sunglasses from gojane.com.
If the weather where you are is anything like how it is in The Bahamas right now, a wide brim floppy hat is just what you need to block the sun from interrupting your slayage.
How do you wear olive green?
