If I Was Your Stylist | Fall 2015 Five Days of Monochrome | Olive Green

Fall 2015 Style Inspiration | Olive Green | kyssmystyle.com

This “5 Days of Monochrome” series is inspired by dream of always wanting to wear a monochromatic outfit, but never getting around to styling one. Olive green is one of Fall 2015’s most popular colors. I’m starting off with this color because I’d never thought I would actually like olive green. Funny how trends can change your mind.

Start your outfit off with a white, long sleeve bodysuit as a  because, well, everything can’t be olive green. The white gives the outfit balance. Boohoo has a cheaper version here. The appeal of bodysuits is that, even though you’ll have issues using the bathroom if it doesn’t open from the seat, once they’re on, they’re not moving. This means you don’t have to worry about your top annoying escaping from your bottom.

Add a little 70s character to your outfit with this trendy A-line olive skirt from Top Shop. A pencil skirt, like this one from Forever 21, is also chic.

It’s a little chilly outside, so you might want to pair your outfit with a flowy, loose-fitting jacket from Style Moi or this one from Forever 21.

Step in style in these strappy lace-up heels from River Island and add this cute PB 0110 olive half moon satchel. Go Jane has a less expensive pair of strappy heels (that I just might buy)  as well as these and these.

Throw a little shade in these Isabel Marant X Oliver Peoples Daria light gold olive sunglasses (or these from Go Jane) and you’re good to go.

Stay tuned this week for more monochromatic wine, grey, black, and blush.

If I Was Your Stylist | What to Wear When Running Errands

posted on: April 12, 2014

What to Wear When Running Errands | kyssmystyle.com

Skirt | Shirt | Shades | Handbag | Tennis | Lipstick

Saturdays are for sleeping in…and running errands.

I’m lazy on Saturday mornings. It’s a sacrifice for me to get out of bed and actually do something.

When I’m going to to run errands, the most important thing is for me to feel comfortable. This is why I opt for clothing pieces such as maxi dresses. I just want to let all hang out and not worry about pulling anything up or down.

I’m intrigued by the maxi skirt/dress and converse look.

You can pretty much find a black maxi skirt anywhere, but this one is from topshop.com. The side split adds a touch of sex appeal to the outfit. It’s also available in grey.

Pretty much any t-shirt will do, but a graphic t-shirt is ideal because it adds character to the outfit. I love the word “chic” and I love the French language (the little I know), so I added this t-shirt from riverisland.com.

The converse are from nordstrom.com. I think it’s best to go with white because it gives “clean” look and contrasts well with the black skirt.

I usually like to carry a decent sized bag out with me when running errands, so I chose this black bag from justfab.com. The shades from lulus.com are gorgeous, and the red lipstick by NARS is sure to complete the outfit (while complementing the red in the shirt).  There is no other makeup look more classic than a simple red lip. It’s a fact. Don’t argue with me. 🙂

I hope you like this outfit.

Good luck running your errands. May you encounter no red traffic lights, long lines, or poor customer service.

If I Was Your Stylist | Black and White with a Pop of Colour

posted on: June 28, 2013

There’s something about black and white that says classic.

A friend of mine once told me that I have an obsession with stripes and denied it. I know I have an obsession with leopard print. I’ve already come to terms with that and I just might need leopard print addicts anonymous one day.

It wasn’t until I took a good look at my closet that I realized that I do have a lot of striped items. I think its subconscious that I’m drawn to repetitive patterns and bright colors. This is why I try to include a variety of shapes and colours in my “If I Was Your Stylist” posts.

The focal point for this outfit is the River Island Green textured tube skirt. I absolutely love this shade of green because it oozes summer and fun!

To balance the outfit, I added a black and white striped top from River Island and black Pointy Toe Ankle Strap Pumps from gojane.com. They also have the shoes in blush, mint and pink. They’re gorgeous and easy to pair.

It’s summer and the sun is not shy these days so to complete the outfit, I added black round framed sunglasses with gold detailing to accentuate the gold of the Pharaoh earrings. Tell me those earrings aren’t dope!
